What can sprouted grains do for you?

Ever had that bloated feeling after you eat? You might be having some issues with your digestion. Sprouted grains can help with that!

During the germination process, high concentrations of starch-degrading enzymes are created. These enzymes convert complex starch molecules into simple sugars that are much more easily digested by our bodies. Sprouting also creates the probiotic culture lactobacillus – both in acidophilus and bifidobacterium form – which aids in the digestion of food.

In addition to simplified digestion, sprouting also helps boost the level of vitamins and antioxidants in many grains and seeds. Plus, as an added bonus, sprouting has been shown to neutralize enzyme inhibitors within the seed allowing for better absorption of minerals.

Who knew you could get so much goodness out of such a tiny grain!
